DTF Heat Press Instructions
Apply Your DTF Transfers with Confidence
Getting professional results is easy when you follow the correct application process. Our Premium DTF Transfers are designed to deliver vibrant colors, soft feel, and long-lasting durability on a wide variety of fabrics.
Follow the instructions below to achieve the best possible results.
Recommended Heat Press Settings
For most garments, we recommend the following settings:
- Temperature: 300°F–320°F (149°C–160°C)
- Press Time: 10–15 Seconds
- Pressure: Medium to Firm
- Peel Method: Cold Peel (unless otherwise specified)
Tip: Every heat press performs slightly differently. We recommend testing one transfer before starting a large production run.
Compatible Fabrics
Our Custom DTF Transfers work exceptionally well on:
- 100% Cotton
- 100% Polyester
- Cotton / Polyester Blends
- Tri-Blend Fabrics
- Canvas
- Denim
- Performance Fabrics
Step 1 – Prepare the Garment
Before applying your transfer:
- Preheat your heat press.
- Pre-press the garment for 3–5 seconds to remove wrinkles and moisture.
- Place the garment on a clean, flat surface.
This creates a smooth surface for better adhesion and improved print quality.
Step 2 – Position the Transfer
Carefully position the DTF Transfer on the garment.
Before pressing:
- Check the alignment.
- Ensure the transfer lays completely flat.
- Remove any wrinkles or folds in the transfer film.
Taking a few extra moments to position your design correctly helps achieve professional-looking results.
Step 3 – Press the Transfer
Apply the transfer using the recommended settings:
- Temperature: 300°F–320°F (149°C–160°C)
- Time: 10–15 Seconds
- Pressure: Medium to Firm
Keep the garment and transfer still during the pressing process to ensure even adhesion.
Step 4 – Peel the Film
Allow the transfer to cool completely.
Once cool:
- Slowly peel the film away from the garment.
- If any part of the design begins to lift, stop peeling, place the film back down, and press again for a few more seconds.
Peeling slowly helps achieve the best finish.
Step 5 – Final Press (Recommended)
For maximum durability and a smoother finish:
- Cover the design with parchment paper, kraft paper, or a Teflon sheet.
- Press again for 5–10 seconds using the same temperature and pressure.
A final press improves adhesion, enhances durability, and gives the print a softer, more professional finish.
Garment Care Instructions
To help your design last longer:
- Wait 24 hours before washing.
- Wash garments inside out.
- Use cold or warm water.
- Wash with a mild detergent.
- Do not use bleach.
- Tumble dry on low heat or hang dry.
- Do not iron directly on the printed design.
- Do not dry clean.
Proper care helps maintain bright colors, strong adhesion, and long-lasting performance.
